2001-11-29 - 12:17 a.m.|The cliche police Okay, the Reverend thinks there may be a few words and phrases we could all do without. Let's start with "relationship". I can't even express how tired I am of that one. I'll have to list my reasons later. Okay, moving on to "I've/we've been through a lot". Well, I've been through Kentucky, does that count? How about "you've been there for me." That makes my stomach contents want to be there for you. Or even the poetic cliches. "Broken heart", "hold me tight" (tight in your ass, or what?), "tears fell like rain" (or like shit, a rock, or a plane), or "falling in love" (see above). And for christ's sake, don't say "we can put a man on the moon, but..."! This is a metaphor that means nothing. And don't say anything you heard on the news, like "ground zero" or "hit the ground running". Do you really want Dan Rather writing your lines? Thanks for your support.
