More on the subject of meaningless phrases: the lovely and talented diarist Klovevibes has added, "How about 'let's touch base' (get away from me pervert, you're not touching my base)."

Which reminds me of the sickening "I'm trying to get in touch with my feelings/my inner child/my feminine side."

Or the ever-popular "I need to go find myself". Oooh, or my all-time least favorite phrase, "we need to talk". Nothing good can come out of those four little words unless its followed by "how much do you want me to make the check out for?".
